Ms. Joan M. Dizon, a BA Communication faculty, is one of the few selected fellows (usually only 10) who are invited to participate in this year's National Workshop on Art and Cultural Criticism.

Dubbed as KRITIKA 2017, the fellowship, which is annually organized by De La Salle University's Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center, will be held at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City, West Visayas, on May 3-6, 2017.

The fellowship entitles Ms. Dizon for an all expense paid trip and stay at the workshop venue, and a unique opportunity to have her manuscript read, be evaluated by a panel of art critics, read critical papers of other fellows, and network with some of the most influential writers and researchers in the country.

This year's workshop director is Dr. Rolando Tolentino, a renowned writer, scholar, and critic, and former Dean of the UP College of Mass Communication.

Ms. Dizon, former Chairperson of the BA Communication program, is currently on study leave. She is presently writing her dissertation towards her doctorate degree in Media Studies at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. - CAS Web Development Team
