CAS faculty researchers & extension facilitators hailed best in 2019 University in-house review

Faculty researchers and extension facilitators from the College have been hailed the best in three out of four categories competed for during the 2019 In-House review of Southern Luzon State University, SLSU-Lucena Campus, September 26.

Dr. Helene Daya, Prof. Gino Cabrera, and Prof. Noreen Echague bagged the best paper award for the Social Sciences category for their paper entitled "Psychological Well-Being of College Students of SLSU: Validation of the Personal-Social Responsibility and Wellness Module."

Mr. Essex Vladimier Samaniego and Mr. Wilfredo Barrera, Jr. received the best paper award for the Natural Sciences category for their paper entitled "Density, Distribution, and Diet of Invasive Alien Species of Frogs of Mt. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape."

Prof. Julie Avila, Ms. Vanessa Cadeliña, and Ms. Anna Sulapas were awarded the best extension program award for the program they spearheaded entitled "Be engaged and decorate through sharing on mobile (Beads on Mobile)".

Aside from the winners, five (5) other faculty research and extension programs from the College have been presented and evaluated in the said event. These include:

Twenty-one (21) completed and ongoing faculty research and extension programs of the University have been subjected to the annual review organized by the Office of Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Development headed by Dr. Gondelina Radovan, Office of the Director for Research headed by Dr. Editha De Jesus, and Office of the Extension Services headed by its Officer-in-Charge, Ms. Araceli Obmerga.

The annual review was assisted by the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC).
