The poster presentation of the study, which was funded by the SLSU-Office of Research Services and which was also hailed as Best for the Natural Sciences Category for SLSU's 2019 In-House Review, bested all other entries from the State Universities in the CALABARZON region including Marinduque State College and West Philippines University, as well as various other participating Agricultural, Fisheries, Environmental, and Scientific government agencies in Region IV.

Organized by the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC), this year's competition had the theme "Science, Technology and Innovation: Enabling Commercialization and Global Competitiveness", and is "aim[ed]... [at making] researchers from various member institutions to strive hard in achieving quality R&D activities, and therefore, package better technologies for countryside sustainable development".

The annual activity is likewise "aim[ed] not only to recognize the most significant RDE results in the Southern Tagalog but also to promote increased interaction among researchers, extension workers, local government units (LGUs), and technology stakeholders", the organization's program says. / CAS Web Development Team
